CannIberia selected this historically significant region to establish its medical cannabis cultivation programme for several reasons...
The region is named after the Moorish princess Salúquia who threw herself from one of the Moura castle towers after her lover was ambushed and killed by a Portuguese raiding party, which then dressed up in his group’s clothes and tricked her into lowering the castle’s drawbridge enabling them to sack the castle.
The reasons for CannIberia established itself in this part of Europe are:
- Portugal has adopted progressive cannabis related health care policies;
- Famous explorers such as Vasco da Gama who discovered new worlds hail from this region. CannIberia intends following in such footsteps and explore new roads to revolutionary health care;
- The region is considered ‘marginally impoverished’, but it is not backward by a long shot. It is a region of immense agricultural promise and untapped human potential. It is part of CannIberia’s mission to bring employment and wealth to this region and its people;
- It has a fantastic temperate Mediterranean climate with warm summers and snow-free winters which are ideal for the cultivation of high CBD low THC medical cannabis for the pharmaceutical industry.
CannIberia invites everybody, pharmaceutical companies in particular to join hands with us and to, through the health care revolution on hand, benefit people around the world and to restore commercial greatness to this historic region.
